Invercargill City Council Chambers on the move

From Tuesday 21 May, all Invercargill City Council meetings will temporarily shift to the Victoria Room in the Civic Theatre.

Council Manager Governance and Legal Michael Morris said the move was prompted by building works that were being undertaken at Te Hīnaki – Civic Building in Esk St.

“Council Chambers will be temporarily relocating to the Civic Theatre while building repairs and alterations are made to the first floor of the building.

“It’s also an opportune time to ensure we have continuity in our business operations and that we’re able to quickly respond to any changes that would force the need for Council to move its chambers.”

The works were expected to take several weeks and the public would be notified when Council meetings would move back to Te Hīnaki – Civic Building.

The public can still attend Council meetings in the Victoria Room, and the Council meeting schedule can be found on Council’s website icc.govt.nz
