Want to help support awesome projects across our city? Invercargill City Council is looking for two new youth representatives to join the Community Wellbeing Fund Committee, and the Creative Communities Fund Committee.
Councillor Trish Boyle – Chair of the Community Wellbeing Fund Committee – said that the positions were a great opportunity to play a part in making Invercargill and Bluff thriving, vibrant communities.
“If you’re a young person keen to ensure rangatahi have a say at the table, and you want to contribute to making Invercargill and Bluff great places to live, we’d love to hear from you,” she said.
“Not only are both of these committees involved in supporting projects that make a positive difference to the community, but both positions are also a really great opportunity for the successful applicants to gain some valuable governance experience.”
Applicants could be between 12 and 24 years old, Boyle said.
Applications for both representative positions will open on October 14 and close on November 3. Once appointed, the new youth representatives could then expect to be part of their respective committees in early 2025.
