Dangerous and insanitary buildings

Invercargill City Council has responsibility under the Building Act 2004 to adopt policies on the management of dangerous and insanitary buildings. The policies set out the Council’s approach when it becomes aware that a building is dangerous or insanitary and the responsibilities of the owner in relation to these buildings.

The policies have been in place for a number of years and are subject to periodic review to ensure that they are up to date and consistent with Council’s current practices and intention for the management of these buildings.

Submissions on the draft policies close at 5pm on Friday, 16 November 2018. Visit the Consultation page for links to the policies and submission forms.
