The date for releasing decisions on the Proposed Invercargill City District Plan has been extended to 30 August 2016.
The Council’s Senior Policy Planner, Liz Devery, said the District Plan Hearings Committee had now heard all submissions and the further submissions on the Proposed District Plan, including the eight Variations.
“The Committee is currently finalising decisions and incorporating these into the Proposed District Plan and Planning Maps. If possible, decisions will be released earlier, however the end of August is now the official cut-off date,” she said.
“The Resource Management Act 1991 requires decisions on District Plans to be released no longer than two years from the date that the Plan was publicly notified. In August 2015, an extension of time was approved by Council to extend the timeframe requiring decisions to be released no later than 30 June 2016. Due to unforeseen circumstances however this timeframe is no longer able to be met. The Council has approved a further extension of time. The new timeframe of 30 August 2016 has been set.”
