Flooding causes temporary Sandy Point track closures

Continual flooding has resulted in two sections of gravel track stemming from Sandy Point Road (one located south of Whalers Bay and the other at the south end of Sandy Point Road) to be closed to vehicles until further notice.

The tracks are situated close to the New River Estuary at the south-east end of Sandy Point and are being flooded at each high tide, making them impassable. Signs have been put in place alerting people about the closures.

The Parks Department will consider permanently closing these sections of track to vehicles if the flooding continues.
