Have your say on roadside sales – and driving on the beach

The Roading and Traffic Bylaw and Parking Bylaw submission processes close on 29 January 2016: the Invercargill City Council wants to make sure residents and ratepayers are aware of changes that may affect them – and how to make submissions.

Of most significance:

  • Signage and sale of vehicles on roads. The bylaws put in place rules around advertising or selling your car (or other items) on the roadside.
  • Prohibiting vehicles from being driven on some parts of the beach.
  • Prohibiting vehicles from being driven on sand dunes.

People are welcome to make submission on the above sections – or on any portion of the bylaws. Submissions must be received by Council by 5pm on 29 January 2015. If you have any questions and want to talk to Council staff contact the Corporate Planning Department on (03) 211 1777 .

  • Copies of the bylaws and submission forms can be found in the consultation section of the Council website.
The documents are also available from the Bluff Service Centre, Invercargill Public Library and the Council’s Civic Administration Building in Esk Street.
