Traffic lights at the intersection of Kelvin and Esk Streets will be turned off from 9am to 1pm tomorrow (Thursday, 9 June) while the traffic light controller is replaced.
A traffic diversion will allow traffic on Kelvin Street to travel straight through. Esk Street traffic will only be able to turn left into Kelvin Street (see diagram). Pedestrians are advised to take extra care at crossings.
The electronic traffic light controller co-ordinates the traffic flow and the operation of the pedestrian crossings. The current controller needs to be replaced as it’s 25 years old.
Controllers at the intersections of Leven and Spey Streets, and Don and Kelvin Streets will also be replaced this month.
