Withdrawal of Proposed Plan Change 2: Subdivision, Land Use, and Development
Withdrawal of Proposed Plan Change
A new Subdivision Code of Practice (SCOP) was developed and accepted by Council in 2023, and the 2016 By-law it was to replace was revoked. However, in order to implement the new SCOP a District Plan change is required, to link the new SCOP to the District Plan and delete references to the 2016 By-law. A change was commenced in 2023 which aimed to do this, however there were some procedural irregularities, and it was never completed.
In order to commence a new plan change process and successfully link the SCOP to the Plan, the previous 2023 plan change needs to be formally ceased under the RMA. The notification below, as advertised on 12 November 2024, is formal notification of the cessation of the 2023 plan change, in order that ICC can commence a new plan change process to implement the SCOP through the District Plan.
