Pool to reopen with Splash bash

There’s a party at Splash Palace and everyone’s invited.

Splash Palace is hosting a week of celebrations from Monday, July 4 to mark the reopening of the pool, which has been closed for planned maintenance since early June.

The celebrations include several special deals, including free hydroslide passes, free swim school lessons and discounted memberships.

Splash Palace manager Stephen Cook said everyone was invited to the Splash Bash week-long party to both welcome back and thank the community for their patience over the past couple of years.

“Between the hydroslides being temporarily closed, challenges during Covid and this planned maintenance we’ve had to ask for a lot of patience. This is our way of saying thank you to our loyal customers while showing off all of our hard work.”

Celebrations will culminate at a pool party that will feature music, inflatable slides, a pop-a-manu competition and prizes on a fun-filled Friday night, he said.

“There will be lots of giveaways and freebies and heaps of fun at the pool,” Cook said. There will be half price memberships and concession cards, free aquarobics and learn-to-swim taster classes across all age groups during Splash Bash week.

“We can’t wait for everyone to see the work we’ve been doing and to see how busy we’ve been,” he said.

Maintenance included painting, re-tiling of the leisure pool and a foyer makeover. A new bulkhead in the main pool and new entry/exit gates will be installed at a later date, without further closure of the facility.
