These photos supplied by Linda McGaw, owner of The Grand Hotel, show she has the perfect spot to watch the impressive Ryal Bush Transport Ltd teamwork take down the former Langlands/Caledonian building.

The demolition of this heritage building has forced the temporary closure of some of our city’s main streets, to allow for a fall zone.

This kind of work is seldom seen in the centre of Invercargill, and Linda has certainly had the front row seat!

The old buildings are making way for the ILT’s new hotel, to be named the Langlands when finished.
