The Invercargill Public Library wants its members of all ages to have a go at designing the next library card. The theme is “bright and colourful” so there is plenty of room for creativity.
This is the second time the public have had the opportunity to design a card for the Invercargill City Libraries & Archives. Last year the Matariki-themed competition was open to all Southland schools. The winner was 10-year-old Joe Matsuo whose design was so popular it is now out of stock, prompting this year’s competition.
“Having local artwork on the cards is so special, and really highlights the vision of our library as being one big local family,” Digital and Communications Manager Bonnie Mager said. “This year we wanted to open it up to all ages to give everyone a chance to put their mark on their library.”
UPDATE: The competition closed on 17 August 2017.
