The Invercargill City Council will consider whether to put a proposal to invest in the City Block Development out for public consultation.
At its meeting on April 16, Council asked that a Statement of Proposal for investment in the City Block and other necessary documents be prepared for consideration.
At an extraordinary Council meeting on Tuesday, Councillors will consider whether to approve a Statement of Proposal and consultation documents which have been prepared by Council staff.
These proposed documents are now available in the agenda, which is online here.
Chief Executive Clare Hadley said Council has previously committed to consulting with the community, should direct investment in the City Block Development be considered.
“Councillors will decide on Tuesday whether to adopt the prepared documents for consultation with the community, which in short ask whether Council should directly invest in the City Block Development,” Mrs Hadley said.
Should Councillors adopt the documents, consultation will open on Saturday, 18 May.
