Opinions wanted on smoke-free Esk Street

A survey on people’s opinion of a smoke-free Esk Street is to be conducted by several members of the Invercargill Youth Council in Esk Street on Wednesday, 2 December 2015 between noon and 3pm.

Council’s Community Development Manager, Mary Napper, said the survey was the brainchild of the Youth Council and would provide an opinion snapshot to inform the Youth Council as they explore the idea of having Esk Street declared a smoke-free area.

“The Youth Council members would like to know if having a smoke-free Esk Street would increase the number of people in the street and if the presence of smokers affected people’s experience in the street,” Ms Napper said.
