This year the number of unregistered dogs has hit a record low of 33 out of 9076 registered dogs, this time last year 50 dogs remained unregistered.
Manager Environmental Services Betty Holden said this uptake can be attributed to the proactive work by the Animal Services team.
“The team have and will continue to educate and work alongside dog owners in our community,” Ms Holden said
Preparation for the new dog registration year has begun.
Dog owners are encouraged to register their dogs on time and to reach another all-time low for unregistered dogs.
