Free microchipping will be on offer at the Elles Road Dog Park next month.
When: From 11am to 2pm on Saturday, March 19 and on Sunday, March 20

Council Compliance Team Leader Kerry Kawe said apart from free microchipping, people would be able to register their dogs if that had slipped their mind or people had just moved to Invercargill and needed to register your pet for the first time. “For people who have never registered their dogs, a special rate of $50 applies – with no questions asked,” he said. “Dogs must be registered to get a microchip.”
“Animal Control officers will also be available to provide advice on on issues such as barking, wandering, or displays of aggression by dogs,” Mr Kawe said. “They can also provide advice on how to become classed as a responsible owners and so qualify for registration discounts.”
Internet banking facilities would be available and owners would also be able to learn about the Council’s online registration system.
